Communication with policymakers is a crucial part of the political process. Effective legislative testimony and media communications can help shift the direction of a debate and dramatically impact the outcome of a vote. It is important that our legislators hear from you on issues that impact the practice of family medicine in Wisconsin.

Providing Legislative Testimony

Testifying in person before a legislative committee provides a unique perspective on this important step of the legislative process, allowing participants to observe firsthand how legislators may be influenced to vote on the issue. Individuals may submit testimony to the committee in writing and/or in person.

Media Communications

Writing a letter to the editor of your local paper helps to raise awareness on issues that impact family medicine with elected officials and the public. Volunteering to author a guest editorial or writing a letter to the editor is an excellent way to share your opinion and capture the attention of your legislator.
