The Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians was established in 1948 to promote and maintain high professional and ethical standards in the practice of Family Medicine, to encourage young people to prepare for active careers in Family Medicine and to help provide continuing education to family physicians.
David Deci, MD - Board Chair
David is an Associate Professor and Director of Medical Student Education for the University of Wisconsin Department of Family Medicine. He maintains a teaching practice in Belleville, WI.
Kenneth Schellhase, MD - President
Ken Schellhase is a Professor of Family Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he has worked since 2001. He also serves as a Medical Director for Children's Community Health Plan, Wisconsin's largest Medicaid HMO. In his spare time he enjoys being a semi-pro drummer.Email Ken
Steve Bartz, MD - President-Elect
Dr. Bartz completed all of his medical training, including geriatric fellowship, at the University of Cincinatti where he subsequently served 6 years on the faculty. After spending 10 years as a faculty physician at a family medicine residency program in Janesville, WI Dr. Bartz recently took a position with Froedert/Medical College of Wisconsin. He enjoys medical mission work and has been on numerous humanitarian trips to Central and South America. Outside of medicine, Dr. Bartz, a Master Gardener, and his wife enjoy nature walks, skiing, and traveling.
Lisa Dodson, MD - First Vice President
Lisa Grill Dodson, MD became the first Campus Dean of the MCW-Central Wisconsin Campus in August, 2014. She received her MD degree from the SUNY Stony Brook and Family medicine residency at Oregon Health & Science University. Prior to moving to Wisconsin, she practiced in the frontier community of John Day, Oregon, and was associate professor of family medicine ot OHSU.
Sabina Singh, MD - Second Vice President
Sabina Singh, MD is a Family Physician at Bellin Health in Green Bay, WI. She has a special interest in family medicine, primary care, disease management and prevention and weight loss. Dr. Singh serves as a board member for Women's Fund and Encompass. In her free time, she enjoys playing piano, aerobics, ballroom dancing, reading and attending concerts.
Eric Stader, MD - Treasurer
Dr. Stader is committed to practicing excellent, full-spectrum family medicine in a manner which reflects his faith and values, prioritizes family, and honors his colleagues, staff, and patients.
