David is an Associate Professor and Director of Medical Student Education for the University of Wisconsin Department of Family Medicine. He maintains a teaching practice in Belleville, WI. 

Kenneth Schellhase, MD - President

Ken Schellhase is a Professor of Family Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he has worked since 2001. He also serves as a Medical Director for Children's Community Health Plan, Wisconsin's largest Medicaid HMO. In his spare time he enjoys being a semi-pro drummer.

Steve Bartz, MD - President-Elect

Dr. Bartz completed all of his medical training, including geriatric fellowship, at the University of Cincinatti where he subsequently served 6 years on the faculty. After spending 10 years as a faculty physician at a family medicine residency program in Janesville, WI Dr. Bartz recently took a position with Froedert/Medical College of Wisconsin. He enjoys medical mission work and has been on numerous humanitarian trips to Central and South America. Outside of medicine, Dr. Bartz, a Master Gardener, and his wife enjoy nature walks, skiing, and traveling.

Lisa Grill Dodson, MD became the first Campus Dean of the MCW-Central Wisconsin Campus in August, 2014. She received her MD degree from the SUNY Stony Brook and Family medicine residency at Oregon Health & Science University. Prior to moving to Wisconsin, she practiced in the frontier community of John Day, Oregon, and was associate professor of family medicine ot OHSU.

Sabina Singh, MD - Second Vice President

Sabina Singh, MD is a Family Physician at Bellin Health in Green Bay, WI.  She has a special interest in family medicine, primary care, disease management and prevention and weight loss.  Dr. Singh serves as a board member for Women's Fund and Encompass.  In her free time, she enjoys playing piano, aerobics, ballroom dancing, reading and attending concerts.

Barbara Ankarlo, MD - Director

A graduate of UMD Medical School and the University of MN Medical School, Dr. Ankarlo has been a partner at the Cumberland Medical Clinic for the past 15 years. She practices the full spectrum of family medicine along with a busy OB practice. In addition to regular responsibilities, she has worked as the ED director for the past several years.

Joanna Bisgrove, MD - Director

Dr. Bisgrove has been in practice with SSM - Dean Medical Group at their Oregon, WI site since July of 2007. She practices full spectrum outpatient medicine and inpatient maternal child care. She presently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the SSM - Wisconsin region. 

Dr. Bisgrove originally hails from Chicago, IL, graduating from Rush Medical College in 2003 and The University of Chicago MacNeal Family Practice Residency Program in 2007. She is actively involved with the AAFP nationally, both with the National Conference of Constituency Leaders and as a delegate for the AAFP to the American Medical Association.

Byron Crouse is the Associate Dean for Rural and Community Health at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. In this role he oversees the Wisconsin Academy for Rural Medicine (WARM) Program, a medical student rural track program and the Wisconsin Rural Physician Residency Assistance Program that promotes the development of rural graduate medical education opportunities. He also is responsible for the Wisconsin Office of Rural Health and the Wisconsin AHEC program.

Dr. Alan David is the Chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. In addition to his duties as department chair, he also teaches students and actively sees patients. Dr. David is a Past President of the Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians and former member of the American Board of Family Medicine Board of Directors.

Kristen Fox is a first year resident at the Waukesha Family Practice Residency. Her professional interests include healthcare for the underserved, women's health, and preventative medicine. Outside of work she enjoys outdoor activities and cooking tasty food.

Dr. Gavin currently splits her time between administrative duties as Chief Medical Officer for Sheboygan County and a traditional family medicine practice. She is passionate about advocating for patients and her physician colleagues.

Kirsten Gierach, DO is a resident at the Fox Valley Family Medicine Residency Program in Appleton, WI. She graduated from medical school in Des Moines, IA and is excited to finish her training in her home state along with passionate physicians dedicated to the WAFP mission.

Lea Heller is a third year medical student at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She is very interested in community health and working with urban underserved populations.

Karen Hulbert, MD - Director

Hulbert Karen

Dr. Hulbert is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She received her MD degree from Rosalind Franklin University/The Chicago Medical School. After completing her residency in Family Medicine in St. Paul, Minnesota, she served on active duty in the United States Navy for three years. She has been in academic medicine for the past 13 years, designing curriculum and teaching medical students and residents. While still practicing the full scope of Family Medicine (including obstetrics), she has a special area of interest in chronic pain and substance use disorders in primary care. She actively treats patients with opiate addiction in her practice. Dr. Hulbert is married with 2 children. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, crafts and working on her hobby farm which is home to assorted chickens, alpacas, and Old English Babydoll sheep.

Dr. Litza has chosen to dedicate her medical career to caring for the underserved and has been increasing integrative practice options to her patients. She currently works for Wheaton Franciscan in Racine and has years of leadership, administrative, and academic experiences.

Rebecca Lundh, MD is an assistant professor for the Medical College of Wisconsin at the Columbia-St. Mary's Family Medicine Residency. Her professional interests include teaching residents and students and caring for the underserved urban population in Milwaukee

Sabrina Martinez is a fourth year medical student at University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She is interested in advocacy and rural health initiatives. 

Beth Menzel, MD - Director

Dr. Menzel enjoys teaching and practicing the full spectrum of Family Medicine as a faculty member at the Medical College of Wisconsin Fox Valley Family Medicine Residency in Appleton. She has special interests in health advocacy (community and legislative), prenatal care/obstetrics, breastfeeding, and adolescent medicine. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially outdoors or cheering for the Packers or Badgers.

Elizabeth Pyne, MD currently works as a family physician at the Sixteenth Street Community Health Center in Milwaukee. She graduated from Columbia-St. Mary's residency program and has an interest in women's health and international medicine.

Keren Rosner, MD - Director

Having lived in Wisconsin for most of her life, Keren Rosner, MD is excited to serve on the board as an advocate for Family Medicine in our great state. She resides in Waukesha, WI and enjoys spending her free time with her husband and two daughters. Hobbies include running, wakeboarding, playing the violin, and visiting state capitols.

Robert Sedlacek, MD - Director

Robert Sedlacek, MD graduated from Rush Medical College in Chicago in 2008 and completed his family medicine residency at the Rush-Copley Family Medicine Residency at Copley Hospital in Aurora Illinois in 2011. He currently works as a family physician at Ministry Medical Group in Merrill Wisconsin. He believes in taking care of the whole person; body, mind, soul, and society; working toward a more just and safe health care system. 

Blaise Vitale, MD - Director

Blaise Vitale, MD attended medical school at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He completed his residency at the University of Iowa and then moved to Grantsburg, WI. He completed a three year obligation with the National Health Service Corps but has remained in Grantsburg since 1991. He also teaches 4th year medical students from the University of Wisconsin. He has a CAQ in Sports Medicine and has an interest in tick-borne diseases.
