AAFP Student and Resident Leadership Opportunities - an overview of the opportunities to get involved in a leadership position on the national level.

AAFP National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Students - Once a year, family medicine leaders and educators come from across the nation to share their knowledge with family medicine residents and medical students.

Currently, Wisconsin has 85 openings in Family Medicine.

AAFPs Debt Management Guide - The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) offers an online resource for all medical students and residents broken into three key training sections: Before Applying to Medical School, Once You Are Accepted to Medical School and As You Approach Graduation.

The family medicine specialty is in high demand. Recognizing the demand for primary care physicians, there are several loan repayment programs that offer funding resources for practicing in underserved areas.   These programs include:

• Wisconsin Office of Rural Health's Loan Assistance Program - Health care professionals in Wisconsin can receive up to $50,000 in educational loan assistance through the Health Professions Loan Assistance Program.

• National Health Service Corps Scholarship and Loan Repayment Program -The National Health Service Corps (NHSC) is a federal program that has both a scholarship and loan repayment program for eligible health professionals in exchange for health care in designated underserved areas.
  
  
• Association of American Medical Colleges Educational Debt Management Services. AAMC provides objective information on how to manage your student loans during residency and beyond.
