Committee Structure for 2009

A good way to become involved with the Wisconsin AFP is to serve on a committee. All Academy members, including students and residents, are encouraged to participate in committee activities. Most committees meet via phone conference at 7:00am during the week and generally last 1 hour or less. The committees and scopes of responsibility are as follows.

 

    Legislative Committee
  • Key contact oversight
  • State legislative and regulatory issues
  • National legislative and regulatory issues
  • Development of position papers
  • Lobbying oversight
  • Legislative Involvement Fund oversight
  • Coalition development and participation
    Membership Committee
  • Technology issues
  • Communications oversight (newsletter, website, etc)
  • Survey oversight and prioritization
  • Marketing Plan oversight
  • Member value oversight
  • Management of awards programs (FP of the Year, Educator of the Year)
  • Monitor alignment w/ AAFP priorities
  • Liaison w/AAFP
  • Chapter Relations
  • Leadership activities
    Patient Centered Medical Home and Quality of Care Committee
  • PCMH activities
  • Scope of practice issues
  • Privileging issues
  • PCMH education and information dissemination
  • Bringing PCMH principles to the practice level
  • Promote organizations like TransforMED and the Practice Enhancement Program to actively redesign practices
  • Promote Chronic Disease Management Model as a practical means of instituting PCMH principles in the office
    Research Committee
  • A resource for advice and consultation with WREN
  • A resource for membership surveys and will review research requests for surveys
  • A resource to all WAFP committees and the WAFP board by assisting with research questions and issues
  • Assists in reviewing and recommending research grants available to the WAFP
  • Oversees the WAFP summer research program and the WAFP Research Stimulation Grant program which includes participating in Foundation strategic planning
  • Assists the WAFP with planning and analyzing any research related to PCMH pilots or demonstrations
  • Will have representatives participate on the PCMH Committee
