Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians

Wisconsin's largest organization dedicated to the advancement of Family Medicine

Established in 1948, the Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians (WAFP) is the state chapter of the 134,600-member American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP).

When you become a WAFP member, you will be a part of a network of 2,900 Family Medicine physicians, residents, and students in Wisconsin. WAFP is committed to advocating for family physicians and promoting the importance of family medicine in the healthcare system. Our work centers on improving patient care, influencing healthcare policy, and supporting the professional development of our members.

Our mission is to promote the value of family medicine as a cornerstone of the healthcare system and support the education, advocacy, and networking needs of family physicians in Wisconsin. We act as your voice and your resource on a national, state, and local level, providing important resources, specialty information, and career and practice guidance.
