This year marks Mental Health America's 70th year celebrating Mental Health Month!
In 2019 we are expanding upon last year’s theme of #4Mind4Bodyand taking it to the next level, as we explore the topics of animal companionship (including pets and support animals), spirituality, humor, work-life balance, and recreation and social connections as ways to boost mental health and general wellness.
Attention medical students and residents: this is your chance to learn more about rural training, practice, and life in Wisconsin Communities. Here’s what your day will have to offer:
The afternoon sessions will include resident-lead activities and various networking opportunities. There is no cost to attend this event. Registration is now open!
Tired of complicated health care and want to provide truly patient-centered care? It may be time to explore direct primary care (DPC). The DPC model gives family physicians a meaningful alternative to fee-for-service insurance billing, allowing them to spend more time with patients without the red tape associated with third-party-payers.
If you are curious about the DPC model, the AAFP offers resources to help you explore whether it is right for you, including:
You can provide exceptional care—on your terms. Explore DPC today.
The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians is proud to announce its 2019 “Wellness Wednesdays” series and invites all AAFP members to join!
Wellness Wednesdays is a structured, bi-monthly webinar series focused on enhancing professional and personal wellness through the joy of medicine. Sessions are scheduled on a Wednesday during the typical lunch hour, 12:15-1 p.m. EST, and are free to join.
Participants will start each session with a brief overview of the discussion topic and then have the opportunity to share their own insight and ask questions at the end of the 45-minute program. It’s a great opportunity to make connections with peers who are also interested in wellness and professional satisfaction topics.
Members from all AAFP chapters are invited to participate thanks to a grant provided by the AAFP Foundation Family Medicine Philanthropic Consortium (FMPC). The FMPC Dues Check-Off program supports this important initiative.
