Continuing Medical Education

As a condition of continued membership in the WAFP & AAFP, active members are required to report at least 150 credits of approved CME every three calendar years.  In order to be eligible for re-election and continue membership you must earn and report your CME within your re-election cycle. In addition, CME credits must be reported in the year in which they are earned.

Free CME to meet MATE Act requirements

The online CME course “Substance Use Disorders Edition 2” is available on the AAFP website now through March 19, 2027. For non-members, it costs $575. However, for AAFP members, it is 100% free! These lessons lead with a non-stigmatizing, trauma-informed approach to treatment and recovery. The CME even includes technology that replicates a real patient interaction. Register today
